stronger belt,
hooks up faster,
keeps cooler,
less slippage,
you dont have to shift to low as much.
supposed to work well if your clutches are in good shape.
If your clutch's are worn and have grooves in the sheaves,it will make it slip
A 500 belt will wear the sheaves,
I think a 700 belt(stiffer,harder) will wear it faster.
But I still have the 700 belt on mine.

500 DUSE
How do you like the 589s? I have Goodyear Rawhides (same tire as the 700) on m 2002 500HO and they are top-notch (much better than the Tracker P tires on my 2001 that I totaled). I have recomended these (Rawhides) tires to a neighbor but he wants a more agressive tire. He is considering the Goodyear Mudrunner or Bearclaw. I told him to look at the Mudrunner but also consider the 589.
Does the 589 work well in loose sand and is it smooth on hard terrain? Did you buy the ITP or the Titan 589s? Which do you think are better (Titan or ITP)?
