This is the 4th time in a row(being 4 rides in a row) it's thrown the chain. This time it broke the little piece of the case that holds the rear swingarm to the side of the motor.

I am going to get it fixed..probably just get it welded back on, then i am going to sell it. Awhile the motor is off i am going to repaint the frame..and put it in the front yard!

It's either a Scr 500 or 400EX...

I guess I'll park my 2000 500 Sportsman next to yours, of course I'll have to push it there.

Have you looked real hard at your bike? If it threw the chain everytime you rode it, then something is not right. Check your sprockets for any wear. And also check you axle bearings. And maybe it is just time for a new chain.

I agree with Lurch something is not right with the bike. My wife broke a chain the first time she was out on her 00' Trailblazer. I put a master link in it, made sure it was adjusted correctly and have never had another problem.

i've checked everything. It all looks right! There is no excessive wear. It all looks clean.

I am not going to get the piece welded back on. I stuck the bolt back in and it looks just fine. I am just going to sell it like that.

I love the 4-wheeler. I was thinking about getting rid of it before for a 400EX. But now i'm sure. It's either the 400EX, SCR500, or a 250R. Decisions decisions!

Aaron,

Do you by any chance have an aftermarket chain tensioner on it?

No chain tensioner.

But tonight, i was look at the back sprocket again. 3 teeth look pretty bad, i suspect that's what is wrong with it. I am going to change the backsprocket before i sell it.

97TrailBlazer,
I'm sorry to hear that you are selling your
Trailblazer. I kind of thought that between you
and me that we would build ours to the MAX.
I think you will be happy with a 400ex or
500sr but you'll regret getting rid of the TB.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
