<< If your machine is mild modded or stock, it is best to stick with a softer compound belt. I've heard that the aramid cord belt (as per Bubahyde)is suppsed to be good as well.I think I am going to put one of those on my wife's trail modded Scrambler. Bubba >>
My 2000 SP 500 primary has groves in it (slight) but still preforms well. I have 2000 km on the bike and have not changed the belt have I made a mistake?
Do you have a part # for the aramid core belt or is that the OEM?

The aramid core belt is made by Dayco, and looks looks you have to get it as far as I know from dennis kirk (www.denniskirk.com).All clutches sooner or later are going to groove because that is where the belt initially engages.A softer compound just helps buy some time. Once it gets to the point where the ATV wants to freewheel when the throttle is nailed for a second before accelerating, it's time to replace it.
