Default Crank case Question

I just received my new crank bearings and I have installed them onto
the crank. I am now ready to install the crank back into the cases.
Do I need to lubricate or fill the crank case with some kind of engine oil
after the crank is installed? My manual does not say but I did notice there
was some oil in the crank when I took it apart.
Thanks to all!!!!!!!

Default Crank case Question

I would probably put a small amount on the bearings and cam before re-assembly. Use your 2 stroke oil you would normally use and put generous amounts on the piston, bore, under the piston. It will run like crap because of the oil when you atart it up first time, but you don't want to start it dry. Just put a light coating with your finger on the top of the piston. The oil that was in the crankcase was excess oil that had not been burnt up through normal operation yet that had settled to the bottom of the motor.

Read here for references or further questions. This is a step by step rebuild of a 2 stroke.

Default Crank case Question

Hey NC. Dont forget that there is no cam in a 2 stroke. Just want to throw that in.

Talonhawk,
Are you rebuilding your TB? If so what happened to require the rebuild?

Default Crank case Question

It was just the bearings time. It is 4 years going on 5 so they where
due. Problem with the TB's is they are noisey anyway and the rattle
it had got louder after I had the flywheel lightened. I just should have
replaced them last year when it was down for the reed conversion.
