NERF BARS ? Do I need them?

Thachad,
Its obvious that you havent ever installed any other nerf bars. I've never drilled for my dg nerfs on four different types of machines. When you have some experience instead of just quoting websites, then you can lecture us.

Right, well its equally obvious that bombest has not installed nerf bars either, and thus i was sharing the information i have found by reading 100's of websites and 1000's of forums. If the information stated by the Manufacturer is incorrect, then take that up with them, but there is no need to make replies like the above comment.
When someone posts a question that has been answered in many previous posts, and on many websites, plenty of people will make useless replies like "Do a Search" or "Search Google.com, and you will find your answer"
But when someone has done all those searches, and quoted information from the MANUFACTURER, you get upset and take a personal attack on that person.
Things of that sort are not nessassary. As i said, if the information the MANUFACTURER puts out is incorrect, Take your beef up with them, Not on me, or someone who is just following information given directly by them.
The information i quoted above is DIRECTLY from Suzuki for their FACTORY nerf bars.
If you read my above post, i mentioned a few times that i have never installed nerf bars, so i am glad you could pick up on the 'obvious' information that i GAVE you.
You have made several helpfull posts in the past, some to my own questions, and your answers are much apperciated, I don't want to turn this into a post war. But you should take a little more consideration when making comments like you did when someone is just giving information that is perfectly correct, according to several manufacturers, and well documented.
Thanks for your kind considerations,
-ThaChad

Your posts only specified 2 manufacturers, alba and zuki. DG was the company which was inquired about. While company information is useful, alba's statement that thier nerfs are the ONLY ones that do not require ANY drilling may be true, but its not clear cut. Other companies leave the disclaimer that "drilling may be necessary" because every brand and model of bike is different and its easier not to have to make all the necessary holes for every model.
While the zuki information is correct, zuki's bars were not the focus and thier installation is certainly not typical, which you would know if you have installed other types of nerf bars. To release their info as a blanket statement and representative of all other aftermarket products is misleading at the least. I'm sipmly trying to say that things are not always as they appear as stated on company websites. They are, after all, in the business to sell their products over everyone else's. In this case, personal experience with other companies refute alba's claims, at least on a situational case by case basis.
I appreciate your civilized repsonse and refute and hope that none if this is being taken as a personal attack. I try to respect other forum members as much as possible until they give me repeated instances to doubt thier deservedness of such respect. In my opinion you have certainly not entered into the latter column of members, few do.

i hate to admit it,,,,,but I have always been happy with DG nerfbars,,,,,simple, traditional nerf bars (i like the style that is on my 400 in my pics)
be sure to use a little locktite when you install them
all nerfs have a huge tendency to rattle/chaffe loose
I have even used silicone to assemble them in key spot to keep the vibes down.

I ordered some Alba nerfs and shortly after i recieved an E-mail stating that they were on back order. A month later i still hadn't recieved them so i called Alba and they said they were still on back order so they cut me a deal on some AC Pro Pegs. They are awesome and help with more than just providing a net if your foot falls off or for racing. They help your foot not fall off, those huge monster pegs won't hardly let your foot move! They installed quickly and easily, we had to drill twice but besides that it was easy as pie. I was also happy with my DG nerfs i had on a Warrior, they were just a pain to put on because they interfered with the skidplate.
