Default Reccomendation For New King Quad 700 Tires.

I have a new 04 King Quad 700 and am not happy with the stock tires, but am not sure what to replace them with. I do most of my riding on old logging roads and hard packed dirt trails in northern california. Not much mud at all. Can anyone recommend a good tire? Id prefer a radial tire if possible but will consider a bias ply as well. Thanks.

I would go with either the ITP ATR's or Carlisle Badlands XTR's for that type of riding. Both are radials and should fit your needs perfectly.

By the way, the King Quad is a 2005 model.

I agree. On my old Vinson , i had itp atr's. They were exellent tires for hard pack trails but In mud they arent that good. I would go with the 26's for the KQ.

not sure what you mean by (took one look and returned the atrs) ?

did you need spacers for the c6 rims and are they wider than stock?

also, is 26 the equivelant of the stock tire or a inch bigger?

Thanks.

Your stock tires say they are 25's but if you actually measure them they are about 23-24's depending on air pressure. When i measured my mudlites, they are about 25.5's. There is no spacer needed for these tires... I am just assuming he didnt like them.......you might feel the same way too. I liked them... thought they were pretty good. Just look around for tires that will suite your needs. The 26's will give you a little more groud clearance.

When looking, check the weights as well. Even though you have a 700, you will notice a heavier tire. The Bighorns for instance are a very good durable tire. They are however very heavy and will cause loss of acceleration. It's all in what you want though, what is most important to you. Of all the ones mentioned, the Carlisles are the lightest, the Bighorns the heaviest.
