If your not going to race then go with a z 400, they are way more comfy on trails and if you decide its not fast enough it can easily be modded to siut your needs. Afterall Doug Gust can't be wrong

Man This is what it all comes down too. Mean green is the machine. As you can see by the quads in my discription that I enjoy top end speed as well as the finer points of handling. And as for handleing the KFX/Z400's handle great and I've had my Kawi for about a year and a half now and I've had absolutly no problems and there very easy to work on if you have a spec book. I just recently rejetted my carb installed my open air box kit and my Yoshimura full system race exhaust and my KFX kicks my Raptors *** now. Plus the mods I put on my KFX all together still put the price tag on the KFX lower than the Raptor,YFZ450 and 450R and I think you'll be much more happy with the comfort level of the KFX than any of the other quads you've listed. The only quad I've been up against that really noticabley beat me was a modded out Banshee and that was in a drag race in the trees the my KFX400 owned him, he had no chance. I think you'ld be very happy with the Big green machine! Later

I haven't ridden a 450, but just about every other quad you are looking at, I've ridden. I truely think the Z quads are the most comfortable of all. They have decent power for a thumper, and have pretty good suspension fromt he factory. My only complaint is the stock rear radials. They seem to make the front end push, especially in the tight trails. Oh and I'm about your height, about 15 pounds more than you and the fit was great. A little taller seat height than what I'm used to on my R but not too tall, like a Raptor. No matter what you decide, welcome to the club. We'll show you the secret hand shake later

It's good to see this thread is still going.
Thanks to all for your posts. I will definitely be picking up a KFX400 in about two months or so (sorry, I know this is the Suzuki forums, but they are identical machines. I just like the green a bit more than the yellow).
