91cavgt, i doubt that the jets will work in the z250 carb, so you might have to order a jet kit along with the carb...but i guess you could give it a try before going out and buying a jet kit...and i'd also wait for ltzguy since he says he's gonna see if the z400 is gonna work so if it does, then i'd order a z400 one...but as for the carb i'd say go for it...

Yeah, if the Z400 CDI box works, then I'll get it instead.

I want to hold off on buying a carb. $150 for a used carb sounds a bit steep to me. Plus, unless I can rev the motor higher, I have no use for a bigger carb.

Since it is just barely over a month away from Mud Nationals, I think I will probably hold off on the mods till after I get back. Right now I am just trying to focus on water proofing my stereo and everything else on the quad. I'm going to try the mud bog and it is DEEP!!! So, I am trying to get the quad ready for some VERY deep water/mud.

91cavgt, since you use your ozark to mud bog, and it is not a 4wheel drive, why don't you buy some vampire EDL s....they have something like 3.5 inch lugs, and have the buggest lugs available..you could put them on differnet wheels, so that you can switch vetween those and the super swampers with no problem at all...just a thought since it'd be harder to get through mud on a 2wd...

ok i called big gun exhaust and they told me that the head pipe on them is not any bigger, but there is "different steps" in them, making it more efficient than stock, but no bigger that stock...it's better then having just a lighter header...but i think i'm just gonna go with the pro cirtcuit since i can just buy the silencer and the header later, since nobody makes a bigger header than stock...at least the header will be lighter :-)...but tell me how your pipe making goes ltzguy...

I have thought about having 2 differant sets of wheels/tires.

I have a set of 22 X 11 X 9 MudLites that I love for everything accept for thick mud, and then I have the Super Swampers that are currently mounted on my stock rims. I have been thinking about getting rid of the Super Swampers, remounting the MudLites tot he stock rims, and then getting a pair of 12" rims with some REALLY agressive mud tires for the deep stuff.

yes the jets will work in both carbs. I think it would be worth it changing the carb to the z250 carb. for those wanting to change exhaust, look up some dyno tests on another bike and see which comes out on top. I know that the alba pipe seems to make the most power on the z250. I have a yoshi slip on i'd sell pretty cheap. Well the cdi on ebay had too many pins so i guess i'm gonna have to re-wire. i don't like cutting wires so its gonna take a lil while for me to figure out how to adapt it without cutting. i'm gonna try to get started on the pipe this weekend if it rains....if it doesn't of course i'll be riding...can't seem to stay off the thing. hell, i took it apart last sunday and ported the head and had it back running in less than 4 hours. porting the head didn't cost a dime...i re-used the head gasket with no problems. another project i'll be working on this week is an ajustable lowering kit. i have it lowered about 1.5-2 inches now but i want it lower...it looks meaner..i will have it where i can raise it back up with minimal tools and be able to do it anywhere i'm at just incase i hit a trail that i need more clearance. having it lower makes it way more stable when riding on a mx track.

91cavgt-the best mud tires ever made are the vampire edl...(edl stands for extra deep lugs,) they make some 3 and a half inch lugs, which doesn't sound too big in writing but if you ever saw a picture of them, you'd be amazed...one problem though, is that they are 28 inches, so unless you brought them outside of the fender with some wheel spacers or an extended axle, i'm not too sure they'll fit...

ltzguy-so i take it you're not going to get the rev box? i bet we'll be better off calling big gun or somewhere else to actually make one...

Yeah, as it is, I had to trim my fenders a bit to get the 25" Super Swampers to clear.
