Maybe its the same stuff and they just have a different scale of measuring octane

Utah is pretty high in elevation, right?
Motors can drop back a notch on octane where the air is thinner. Conversely, a motor might need higher octane in altitudes where the air is thicker (sea level).

Huzzah! High School physics class comes in handy finally!

Yup, makes sense. Thinner air compressed down inside the cylinder won't be as compressed as thicker air, so less need for octane and more of a need for a turbo or supercharger lol

Does anyone recall the size of the fuel hose between the tank and the carb? Also, where can I find those little clips that secure the hose?

Does anyone know for certain if these will work in my 1988 model?

I have both the arms off, and neither one of them have a spherical bearing, or a place to snap a sir-clip like is mentioned in this ad.

To answer my own question. NO, these will not work on the '88 model. The inner diameter is too large. It might work, if I could get a hold of the spacer from the 250s model.

Are you sure you don't have the 250s model?

Positive it's not a 250s. I'm not positive about the year. I was thinking it was an '87 but someone suggested that it was an '88.

It doesn't matter. The 87 and 88 are nearly identical. So why do you need a spacer from a 250s? All years of the 230 have the same frame. A 250 spacer wouldn't fit in any 230 frame of any year.
