one of the cool things about living where I do, besides the astronomical taxes, Dic&heads moving here from the bay area, and the tree huggin hippes from Bezerkley................ are..................
When we go ridin we drive to the national forest, till we don't see people, then we take off on a fire road, till we REALLY don't see anyone,,,,, Then we unload the bikes, strap on the sidearms, (ya, they are still somewhat legal in taxifornia) fill the coolers and BLAST!!! Don't worry so much about the truck, as you do about running across some backwoods miners claim in the seirra nevadas!! There was a little thing called a gold rush that happened out here in the 1800's, and there are some inbread tweekers that think they will still find the motherload!!! And they guard their "claims" with firepower!
Tell you what, great scenery, great history(ghost towns abound), great fishin, INCREDIBLE riding, but after a couple of ALL guns drawn stand offs with these methheads, 60 miles from nowhere......... I think a parking lot thief would be hatin life if we rolled up on them................. And if you've read this thread, you know how I feel about F@%king thiefs!!!!!!!!!!!

You sure have some way with words there PG... Trust me, I feel about the same way as you concerning the sticky fingered species. I'd be pullin some sadistic **** that would give Tarantino ideas for Hostal II if I ever caught me one.
Off of that note... There was a gold rush here too in the 1800's at Dahlonega, GA. And with gold nearing $800/oz,,, I've been thinking of including a pan along with my riding gear for the occassional stream I encounter just to see. I doubt I will ever see a methhead gauding his territory,,, The area is too well patroled by the rangers and the public on the weekends. But I suppose if I take a few too many turns off the beaten path, a run-in wouldn't be all that much of a surprise. Although, if they heard me coming and if they hurry they might have a chance to see my shirt tail smacking my azz. Something we all should keep in mind is to watch out for a peice of wire strung across the trail less taken. It happens.

Hay man. Did you guys ever have any luck finding a factory service manuel?</end quote></div>
Yup. Repairmanual.com They even had a used one for the 250 89-90. It had a big coffee stain on the cover, lol. I got that one, the 230 one, and a couple books that cover every atv made from like 80 something to mid 90's. Never know when I'll be tinkering with some long forgetten ride.

Have you considered marketing those a-arms? Like the look of them. Could be worth something in the near future.</end quote></div>
I've thought about it. I have another set of stock arms, 1987 ones I think. There's just a couple hang-ups: 1) Liability. What if something breaks??? 2) These welds ain't TIG welds. They a little rough looking from a cheap $300 MIG with fluxcore wire, no gas. But they hold, been welding 15yrs. 3) It aint easy. With no jig to work with, it takes me 3 or 4 days... What are they worth?
But more than once I've thought of making up another set and throwing them on ebay to see what happens. I'm certainly not going to use the stock ones ever again, lol!
