85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.
Not sure you have to plug the old stem. You might be able to just drill a new hole and stick a new stem in leaving the old one. If you have to plug it, a bolt with jb weld works. But I kinda highly don't recommend offset rims or spacers on the front. It increases bumpsteer bigtime. Its much better to move the arms out (frame spacers) or get longer arms. Someone that's used to riding trikes I wouldn't think would be worried about making the front wider lol
That said, I would either flip the rims or get new rims before getting spacers. Spacers just add weight I guess. If you have crap rims and you just want to see, then flip em. Valve stems are cheap. You'll need a valve stem tool to pull the stem thru the rim hole http://images.drillspot.com/pimages/7473/747317_300.jpg Maybe you can borrow one at a tire shop? It should say on the valve stem package how big the hole should be. Walmart should sell em next to the slime. Slime brand.

Lol yeah the trike rider wants a wider front end I've just been tossing some ideas around and since my 230 has become a garage queen for a bit I have a lot of time to tinker with it...the rear wheels stick out slightly farther than the fronts but that's just me thinking about it too much lol. Spacers I probably wouldn't do but flipping the rims I might. Would the stem hit the brake caliper? I guess I could mount one on backwards and see. In your opinion Randy, what would be the best way to widen my a-arms?
I can't remember if it will hit.
The best way or the easiest way? The best is to learn how to weld and copy this http://www.amstarmanufacturing.com/images/102LT_006.JPG That gives you caster and camber adjustments.
The easiest is to cut the arms apart n stick some tube in and weld it back. That's what I did.
The idea is to get the arms to angle down as far as possible without binding all the ball joints. That way they don't compress while turning as easy, yet are still soft over bumps. And lots of travel so your wheels still touch the ground while hard on the gas so you can still steer. Hard to steer with front wheels off the ground lol

No, that is for 250R shocks, not 250S. Lowest preload setting bolts right up. i have them on mine, they are much better than the stock shocks
