So if we are using original shocks and a-arms on the 230 and 250S what is the max size tire we can run on the machines?

Can I run a 22" front tire on the 250S? The Fenders for my 250S are extremely pricey!

You have to test to know for certain.

Take the shock/spring off of the quad. Remove the spring from the shock, and then reinstall the shock without the spring. Then you can you move the suspension through the range of motion of the shock. If the tire hits the fenders when you compress the shock, then you need to be concerned.

It is possible that the spring will bind before the shock fully compresses, but it's a lot harder to test this with the spring on the shock. Look for a large neighbor and get him to jump up and down on the bumper to see if contact is made. Or use multiple people if needed.

Don't forget to turn your wheels in both directions, and test that way as well.

I have 22 on da front of my 86 230s n they haven't hit. I came down into a ditch after a jump landed on my right front tire thought for sure I was going over the bars or at the lease rip the wheel off.but it took the hit n wheel never hit the fender.I have the original 230s shocks.

Does anyone know if the shift lever and linkage for a 230 E and the S have the same part number? I need a new setup for my E and am wondering if the S will work.

Thanks.

Now alot of people did away with the linkage on the 230s quadsports n run just the shifter.I think it works good but it fells alittle funny if you wear motocross boots in my opinion.

What parts are used for this?

I've always thought the shifter was too far forward to get rid of the linkage system. I'd love to ditch it.

I took my old shifter and had a friend fabricate a bar so it attaches directly to the spline. It works, but it is not very easy to shift. The original linkage creates some leverage which makes for easy shifting.

I'm looking to go back to the original setup.
