Just a heads up, if someone gets a chance to check it out.

I was looking at my wive's ltz250 and noticed how similar the head looks. I also see where some people have used a cam from a lt230s in the ltz250. There's a chance that head will bolt onto our engines. Looking at pictures on eBay it looks like it might also have larger valves then what our heads have. If that's the case, it might be a decent upgrade.

It doesn't have the hardware for the decompression lever though.

I put a wiseco big bore kit in my 230s. I can get it to fire for a few seconds but I haven't had any luck getting it to run. do I need to change the carb settings?

Double check your valve lash, make sure they aren't to tight.
they should have a little play in them when you move them up and down.
Now did your quad run before you took it apart?

It did until the piston melted down. I had quadrunner but when I redid the engine I used a quadsport bottom end. I noticed it kicks over harder then hell too

Anybody ever change the rear hubs on their LT230? I have an '85 and would love to be able to run regular 4/110 wheels.

I'm also gonna see if the spindles from my '06 Ozark will fit too. If they do that means that LTZ250 spindles will work and that will put my front pattern at 4/144.

I have read that rear ATC 200x hubs will work and they will be 4x110. The ltz250 spindles will not work without changing to a different style bottom balljoint. The lt230 balljoint uses a pinch style mount while the ltz250 uses a bolt/nut style mount like the type on the lt230 top arm.

With that said, check out this page.
http://www.suzukicentral.com/forums/...joint-mod.html

You should be able to use that page to switch to ltz400 front spindles. Which are aluminum. Just need to confirm that the upper mounts are compatible. Our lower arms can be modified in a similar way to what you see in that post. Although you might need to weld an insert into the hole for the ball joint. You could also just use ltz400 lower arms but they are a lot longer than ours. About 3.5" longer.

Disclaimer: I haven't done any of the things above. It is just my notes from my research for when I get my 230 back together.

Now you went from a 230e to a 230s bottom end.The 230s have had problems of chain popping off also, and if it locks up the engine it can shear the keyway on flywheel ,therefore making it hard to kick n throw off timing marks.so you might to double check the flywheel key.Let us know how its going.
