Default 85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

Well with the 250R I can still use my hubs so that would be an obvious plus since I I wouldn't have to get new rims either. But having to take down each arm by a half an inch seems like disaster to me.

The 400EX arms are exact as far as fitting into the frame mounts which is a deffinite plus, but our top a-arms are 10 3/4 inches and the top a-arms for the 400EX are 9 1/2 inches....so that is a rather big problem....so still pondering what will work best atm.

Why is it a disaster to saw 1/2 inch off the arms? Hack saws are cheap and I dont think the cut has to be exact. If you cut too much you can get shims to take up the slack. The bearings are what gets bolted to the frame. The arms just hang on the bearings.

How much longer are the 250r arms again?

My vote is chop saw and 250r arms. If I was willing to call in my favors, I'd get my buddy here to make me some custom ones while I am rehabin! But hate to give him something else to do. I pretend to be busy, but he REALLY is!

Well you make it sound so easy I guess really the biggest obstacle to overcome is figuring out what shocks to use and still keep the intended geometry of that shock. From my measurements the stock 250R and Honda 400EX a-arms are both almost identical in length, the 250R owner said his bottoms are 12 5/8 inches and tops were 11 inches thats what I measured on the 400EX...so that aspect isn't really a delima.

So from everything so far I would say the 250R a-arms might be the way to go since with a little elbow grease they can be made to fit. ontop of the fact we can keep our spindles and hubs which means same rims. Guess I would need to get the 250R tie rods, upper/lower a-arms, and then figure out what shock to use.

Yep he does seem to be a very busy fellow, especially since he is constantly answering our questions or guiding us in our ignorance

Here are a pair of A-arms that are +2 (that would be wide), the problem is I can't get into a bidding war with Christmas and all

I meant a Bud here where I live. He is one of those Jesse James-Monster Garage kinda guys. Would never Buy or modify something like a arms, he'd just make some from scratch! Right now he is building a LS1 powered long travel sand rail, completely from scratch! The man has mad skills!

New pictures are up!! Took em and then went for a ride in the dried up river bed by my house, man it had been to long.

Yeah I'll be watching ebay to see if there are some used 1987 250r a-arms...I will have a pretty good idea whom they belong to

I would buy that 260cc kit but since I will send it to kustom Kraft and they will do it for me for $330, might as well go that route.
