No helmet law in Colorado. I go back to a former statement...natural selection!

I bought my caliper and feeler gauge today and to test out the caliper I measured the piston that I pulled out. It was 67.35mm, I'm guessing it was like yours Randy not a 66.00mm but a 67.50mm. Also looking at the photos in the clymer repair manual I don't see valve reliefs cut in the head of the pistons they show in the photos but mine has valve reliefs.</end quote></div>

You have to measure the skirts, not the top or the sides.</end quote></div>

I Measured the skirt and exactly 67.50mm. Are there only a certain brand piston that has valve reliefs cut in them?

Btw the Quik Steel you recommended for the case 270qsguy worked great! You were right easy to work with, quick drying and looks like it will last, thanks.

Ok, I'm going.

Ohio doesn't have a helmet law either.

I don't know.... I think its up to the manufacturers if they want to put them in. I always like to see them though. I feel a little safer that way. Apparently, some wisecos have them n some don't. My lakota wiseco has them and it says on the side of the box 8.5:1. WTF? Doesn't make any sense why a low comp piston has reliefs and a high comp doesn't.

Hey JR it's been a while. snow's pretty deep around here.

pistons w/ relief cuts are domed for hi comp. my old stocker was flat topped and my new Wiseco is domed w/ the cuts. don't know what to say about the lakota piston.
