Agreed.
I always keep plugs on hand. they are cheap, and changing it will never hurt!

Alright Randy, it is just me and you I guess?

Gonna kick the beast over this weekend for sure. TM28 (correct needle installed), K&N, no cover, 260cc kit, DG excellerator full exhaust....

What do I look out for? How do I properly break the engine in, without "knowing" my jetting is "perfect"? OR can I break in the engine properly with less than perfect jetting? Hopefully I have it towards the rich end................ That would do the least amount of damage, correct?

Well, at least there is a couple of us left. Maybe they'll come back when we start talking about 230 stuff again.

Using an untested carb would make me nervous. I'd borrow a good carb for the break in. Rich is better than lean I guess. Lean just won't run, and if it does run it will get too hot too fast. Seems like too rich would take away power needed for the break in. One you get that thing fired up, you gotta go. Can't be screwing around with the carb.

Can you borrow the carb from the 230E? Then once you get the 260 broken in you can tune the tm28.

I wonder how do I break in a 10hp briggs that will do nothing but push hydraulic fluid? Can't exactly take off running thru the gears ya know.

Hello Mr. Yagerzz,

With your vast Suzuki experience, you used to post in the 230 quadsport help forum, where should I start with my jetting? I have an 86 LT230S with open air box, K&N, TM28 flatside carb, 260cc LA sleeve big bore kit, 1mm bigger intake and exhaust valve, stage 2 Webcam, upgraded valve springs, polish and port head, full DG excellerator exhaust..............

My dilema, have to break the engine in right for max HP, how do I do this with carb guessing????

Any imput will be MUCH appreciated...

Thanks

Put this up for the Suzk "expert" wonder if I get a response? i think 2 strokes are his gig,,,, but I need all the confusion you all can throw at me!
