Randy, was that chain tensioner that you said you liked in that thread PG just pulled up the red thing you recently said didn't work well? I looked at the site and it said it was a red thing that bolted up to the footpeg mounts.

the 230 is not an mx machine. The suspension isn't set up for mx racing, it is much more at home on the trails

True....but that doesn't mean you can't jump it and race friends at a track! You should put some pics of your wheeler in your gallery by the way.

Yeah, I said that over a year ago, lol. Its a learning process. Someone else did a big write-up on the 230 and the swingarm problems and recommended the red thing as a solution. It was written out so professionally, I was sold. But after I bought one and my friends got one.... We decided they're junk.

First off, they only hold the chain on long enough that you think it will work. Then the chain flies off when you least expect it.

Second, that roller adds a lot of resistance to the chain. For me, its like riding with the brakes slightly dragging.

Third, it bends over time and you have to constantly keep it straight.

We've all bought stuff like that before. At least I have.....a lot.

So what exactly happens when the chains crack the cases? The chain snaps and flings down to crack the case, or does it fling up? Is that one plastic chain guard I see a lot of you using the answer?

I haven't even had my chain fall off yet.

atvman, definately take the LT to the track, it can handle the MX track just fine. THat is the first place I took mine when I bought mine a few years ago, i wanted to put it through its paces so I would know what it has, what it can do, and see if anything was going to break.

Have fun with it.

86LT230S bought the arms and said he would keep me posted on how/ if they fit. From the research I did, I don't think they'll fit and if they do, they won't be much longer than stock if at all. He has another thread in the Suzuki forum titled "Will 250R a-arms work?????"

I imagine our best bet is going to lengthen the ones we already have.

or the 250S arms

Which by the way, does the 250S rear shock bolt right up to the 230 or do you need the 250S swingarm on there?
