Come to think of it though... That's about the way that 250X was that I found on craigslist. It might have had a few more miles on it than this 230, but it was still mint.

I sanded the places where the paint was peeling with #40 sandpaper. It left big gashes and "strings" of plastic sticking up like hair. I figured the paint ought to stick to that! But, its taking forever to get enough coats of poly on to make it flat and smooth again. I can only get a coat or two a day because of drying time. I'd say I'm about halfway with the plastics. But once the plastic is done, its done.

So, we had a bit of a camping/bonfire type get-together this weekend. Right before heading off into the woods, I decided to put the quadsport in the garage for the night. I fired it up and spun around the yard, did a few wheelies, etc and pulled in the garage. My friend said, "That all that thing has, lol". I said, "Yup, that's it".

Well, later we was at the fire and he says, "dollar for dollar and pound for pound those 250/230's are about the most fun you can have on 4 wheels."

I said, "yeah, now you see why I just want a 270 kit to have the perfect quad."

He said, " I noticed yours seems to have a lot more power than it did last time I saw it. This time it was pulling the front end up with ease, but last time you were yanking your arms out to bring the front up."

I said, "Not sure what the difference is... Could be I had the 32mm carb on last time. Now I have the 28 and have it all tuned up right. Nothing else has really changed."

We decided much more power than this is just a hazard. There's just nowhere to ride that fast here except on he road. And then the weight of the quad goes up with the power output, so that takes from the fun-factor. I don't know.... I know I was going fast enough today to make tears in my eyes. When dancing with trees, that's about as fast as I care to go.

Got my decals from Supertrapp in the mail! Also got my new chest protector. This weekend I'm going to go to the Cycle World show @ the MN Convention Center and see if I can find some discounted boots. I'll be pretty well set for anything then!

What about your arms? My friend broke his arm last fall and broke his thumb the year before. He says he's not going to ride in september anymore.

The thumb was a $20,000 surgical deal. Haven't gotten the total on the shattered bones in the arm yet.
