Im planning to pick up a 230 later this week for my wife. This will be her first quad. It is an electric/pull start model and has a clutchless transmission. How much of the tech in this massive thread is applicable to this model?
Is there a reason these dont seem as popular as the kickstart versions?
Any reason this would not ne a good first quad for my wife? My first was a kawasaki mojave so Im hoping for reasonably similar performance.

Is a chain drive or shaft drive model? I got my quad from a guy who bought it for his wife, but almost killed himself doind a wheelie on it and decided it wouldnt be good for her. I have the S model though, so wheelies are easy if the RPM's are to high when you let off the clutch. A clutchless will be more forgiving. I think it will be a perfect starter quad!

Truthefully i dont know if it was chain or shaft drive. It was in a dark storage container . All I know is it needs a battery but It started with one pull. It had a rear rack was orange plastic and black frame and was 300 bucks.
I hope it is chain drive. I didnt realise they built one that was shaft drive. It was extremely stiff on the rear . Im 250 pounds and it didnt squat at all. Made me wonder if it had rear supension.

Wow! A lil BigMc??? freaking awesome man!!!
My daughter (almost 11yrs old) has just taken over my 230!!!!

Talk about proud!

What a strange couple of years it has been....... I built the ultimate 230 at least 5-6 times..
They were all badass, but I either blew them up, burned em up, over built them, etc........

Now I bought the 230 that was super stock, made the "easy" mods and I am lovin life!

This is a badass lil machine!!!!

We have missed you Charles, or I have at least!!!

It is all in the training, my brother!

Give him him the latitude, to learn an fail or succeed, on his own, and you have done good!
