Default 85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

Thanks for all the kind words ya all!!! I am on the hunt as we speak for my old stuff... Saw an ad in the paper today for an "unknown year Honda 3 wheeler complete, no title as is. and a "ton" of old quadsport parts, frames, engines, rims etc....CHEAP!!"
I had micro stamped 90% of everything, so my fingers are crossed...

I am taking a cop friend, so I will not commit any violence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that I speek for everyone here when I say that our fingers are crossed right with you in hopes that that is your sh&t !!! I helped a friend today with on old 85 honda xr200r motorcycle. Boy is the 230 easier to wrench on, anyway I did not get a chance to even start my little valve seal job, plus I am not sure if I want to get new valves for it too. I may have to set this asde a few days , a friend just traded his yerf dog cart for a 1988 honda 250x i am positive he will be suckin up my time for his bike.

As far as the new valves go. Its my opinion that......Valves are cheap. I have only rebuilt the very, very top end of a sport once. I replaced everything but the casting That was one rebuild, one overbore, a stage two camshaft and about..........5 years ago.
I run high end full synthetic oil to keep the cam from chewing up the rockers. But ive had no trouble out of the valves or seats. To tell the truth, after it was all said and done, I had more beer money tied up in finding the correct valve spring compressor than top,top end parts.
Talk about a humbling experience, it got to the point that my U.P.S. guy was "wishing me luck THIS TIME" when a new v.s. tool would show up.

Sometimes, I miss those days. SOMETIMES......................................... .................any body need a valve spring compresser for a 72, 3 1/2 horsepower briggs and straton go cart engine............?

When it comes to rebuilding the top end, I am a firm beliver in replacing ALL the old parts. After all, do you really know if/when they were ever serviced?

Good Luck and............................... Keep-em-alive.

welcome back UGLY! Looks like I have to do the "legal" thing and wait for my parts....... Got the ATC back quick due to the title. I'll get a couple of frames soon due to the titles as well. My parts and engines are gonna take at least a week acording to johnny law, proof of guilt and all.....
