You will need to replace your stock shock ( if its still stock ) with one that can handel the extra levrage.
I had the same issue when I had my Q.S. swinger extended. I have pics in my gallery. Works can make you a good deal on a surpurb set up for your new boinger.

By the way, I think i can get you a heck of a deal on the swingarm extention. I had mine done for less than 50 bucks.

That would be cool, as the last I found Vince's was the cheapest and he was backordered.

Sorry, I forgot to specify, my previous question was for yagerzzz. He has a surplus of Suzukis, while I only have one 86 LT230S. To most of us with 1 to 2 machines, selling would be like selling a family member.

The stock swing arm on the 230 is made from mild steel. Just about any good welding shop can do the work. I have posted on that very topic eariler in this thread.
Works has their pricing starting at $509 for the stock length and $539 for the extended version. It goes up from their. You can spend as much as $709 depending on the bells and whistles you want.
That is msrp though and you may be able to talk your dealer down a little. ( good luck on that one )
Mine has the external rez and threded preload. I give about $550 for it.
Hope this helps.

I just submitted a pic of how I fixed my sloppy shift linkage. All parts available at local hardwhere store. Youjust need a drill and some time. If the pic is not up yet give a little while to get approved.

I have a 1987 230 and it has started running hot. I believe its time for a rebuild. What do I need to rebuild it? Also, Which big bore kit should I use? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
James
