Depends on what pieces are missing. The washer and oring on the mixture screw... I doubt it. That would affect idle more than anything and that's the only thing you say the quad does well. So, I doubt it.

What about the airbox and airfilter?

UNI airfilter with the stock set up I tryed taking off the cover and that didnt help im stumped

Got a new spark plug today, oil filter, and some carb cleaner, cleaned out the carb really good tommarow I will check the stator again and then put the parts back in my carb. also how many turns should my pilot screw be out from in, Im running stock carb,airbox. but i got a UNI airfilter and a cobra megaphone exhuast.

1.5 turns is the rule of thumb, but it has to be tuned. Its impossible for me to tell you how many turns you need. I turn the screw out until the idle goes up, then turn the idle screw down, then the mixture screw out again, then the idle screw. Keep doing that until the idle speed stops going up or if I hit 3 turns out. If it goes more than 3 turns, you need a bigger pilot jet. If you can't get it out at least a turn, you need a smaller pilot jet.

I think I flooded my quad..now its starting really hard ...like 50 kicks hard
I had it turned up really rich - was spitting flames out the exhaust...oh so cool!

anybody having trouble kick starting their quad in cold temps?

Turns out I had the decompression cable to tight, so it lost almost all if its compression. I fixed it and now it has a ton of compression, no smoke either, so all is good.

Yup... everyone that needs to adjust their intake valve
