alot of guys on here can tell ya if you want to waste the other quads in our class of 230s' and others like Blasters, warriors, 300 and 400ex's it wont come cheap. I have dumped over a grand in mine and i am still nowhere close to competition level, but i did my own work and saved a ton of money. big bore motors require alot of time and money for people like you and i it seems impossible. as soon as i find my gearing combs i will pm them to you. it will have the sprocket combs and what they are good for.
Its kinda strange, I hear that about warriors are supposed to be faster. To the best of my knowledge, my LT230S is stock and smokes like crazy. When I drag my buddy with his stock warrior 350 with a healthy engine, I kill it. Out right obliteration.

hey i just read your shifting problems. if you want a better shifter buy one that is originally for a Yamaha Blaster. the blaster shifter is the right length and bend which works perfectly on a 230s.
and rebuilding your clutch sounds like what you need to do. and make sure the clutch is adjusted properly. you want your clutch to start engaging when you start releasing the lever and when you are rolling down the road bump the throttle it should bout give you wishlash if it is fully engaged.

what sproket combo are you running? and congrats on wasting a warrior. I have never riden a stock 230, tend to add a better cam right from the start. when i build 230 engines even if someone wants a stock rebuild i use a 250s cam because it a little bit stronger through the power curve. rarely do i use a stage 2 cam. and i tend to increase the octane of their fuel. right now my 230 keeps up with a KFX450, destroys Blasters, and even a couple 300exs.

ive got a new set of rings, new top end gaskets, cant seem to find valve seals anywhere though? going to hone the cylinder myself and hope it works out ok, figure worst case is it still smokes a bit, anything is better then this!!! even smoking like it does the old girl rips, not bad for getting paid 100 bucks to take it away(bought it with a busted side cover from under a tarp outside for 4 years, along with a snowmobile. sold the sled for $200, i only paid $100 for the sled and quad!!!)

I'm not sure but a lt250s is a perfect match. a new one is only like $100 on bikebandit.com and its a direct bolt in no mods needed. finding a used one is impossible.
