This may sound like a stupid question but I bought a couple spark plugs for the 230 today. The top of the plug where the plug wire attaches is much larger than the smaller threaded tip that the old plug has. Is there an adapter that will thread into the new plug top that will work with the old plug wire? Will a small piece of threaded rod work? Again this forum has saved my butt when it comes to problems I've had with the quadsport! Thanks to all the contibutors on this forum!

Ok so I answered my own question lol. Since I've never had to change the plug till now I didn't realize that the top terminal is actually a nut that is threaded onto the top of the plug...wow...I guess you really do learn something new every day

just found this forum an joined,...new to 4 wheelin,...bought my 1st one last feburary,..sposed to be a 85 lt230s quad sport,...wanting to fix it up an learn to ride a lil!! posted a few pics on my home page...

There is 5 years worth of info in the big thread. chok full of valuable stuff. there is a link in my sig at the bottom of my post. its a website dedicated to all that is 230 Quadsport. its full of how to articles and links to parts dealers that carry 230s parts and a restoration section if you are looking for resto ideas.

thanks,...after reading 57 pages of this thread instead of sleeping last night,...think i got a 230e instead of a 230s??? as mine has clutchless manual 5 speed an electric start with a pull string back up instead of a kick start??? trying to learn much as i can an looking for a new carburetor,feel the one i got is not the right carb....

yep that sounds like a 230e.

if you could get a pic of the carb, i could be able to help. i've built several of these quads from ground-up. kept the best one for myself. pics are on my homepage.

did any of these quads come with a choke cable coming out top side of carb?
