I don't know where to get a tach... There used to be a factory odometer you could get, but not anymore.
A big bore kit would make it go much faster. The cc's and compression goes up with that.

I don't know what to say about the 250r project. I guess it depends on how much time and money you have. If you do get it, I can't see you riding your 230 anymore. [img][/img]</end quote></div>
I haven't had the 230 on the trails since the end of june when I picked up my RM. I dont have too much money, If all the motor needed was a piston and rings I'd be all over it. It just doesnt fit my current buget of dirt cheap . I'm planing on doing a bunch of work on the 230 to make sure its ready for winter before it gets too cold to work outside. So far I wanna try and get new rear tires, replace my 22in mudders with some 20in kenda claws. Do you think 18inchers would be too short, I'm scrapin the skids plates now with my 22in. I need to redo my case saver, I made one out of one of those plastic cutting boards, but it couldnt handle the heat, so i have melted plastic all over my engine, and oil because you couldnt get those two bolts tight enough. I'd love to get some 23 inch front tires, but my current ones are too new.
Do any of you guys have expirience with studding tires? Are the ice screws good enough?

I was thinking about 18's before I made my s-arm longer. Now, the back slides so easy, I kinda wish I could find a set of 20 inch Fasttrekkers like Malhombre has (either that or cut every other lug out of my klaws to make them look like trekkers). My chain guard is custom too, but I can fit my fist between the guard and the ground. That's good enough for me. I don't go muddin or drive in deep ruts, so no danger of getting stuck.
Bikebandit has OEM case savers for like 3 bucks. Can't beat that. #65 here: http://www.bikebandit.com/suzu...ssion/o/m6367sch240180
I was reading here: http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3 about studding tires... The guy seemed to be popular around there and seemed to know what he's talking about. I was going to try it because I keep getting stuck on the bayou on wet logs. The metal studs would bite into the wood and get me over the log or else grind the log down flat. Anyway, I would read around over there... Those guys know the best tires.... Considering they're on 3 wheels and keeping the front end down and being able to slide is a priority. You can get away with a little more on a quad. But back to studs, the guy said he just screwed the hex head screws in his tires and that was it. No leaks or anything. I was planning to just screw into my swamplite lugs... The screws wouldn't get near the inside of the tire anyway. If they do, just slime it.
