Cool, my spread sheet predicted 57.7 @ 9000 rpm. Figure your tires grew an inch at that speed, so you were probably churnin 8400 rpm

thanks ryan
yeah i would rebuild it. there's no telling what is goofed up in your carb. it sounds like to me the needle and seat is mess up. its letting too much fuel in the bowl.

How's the ram air idea going? Do you have a fuel injection system of some sort? Just with my giant KN filter I have to run a bored out dial-a-jet and a main jet with a hole as big as the jet-needle.... and that's BARELY enough gas! I'm sure I still have negative (although small) pressure behind the carb... couldn't imagine having positive pressure

the equation is =((3.1415926*A7/12)/5280)*B7*60*(E7/F7)*(1/C7)*(1/D7) if that helps anyone.

ram air is still a no go. the stock mikuni wont let enough air through. gonna try it again next year with a 28mm flatslide. although i did solve the turbulant air problem. i made my own version of the tornado fuel saver. with the added air pressure it kept blowing my custom air boot for the intake tube to carb. i am not sure where to go from there, i rarely tinker with carbs and i dont know a whole lot about them. tried the turbo idea too and couldnt get it to spool up right. it only built up 3lbs of boost. i have been tinkering with fuel octanes though and alky. still trying to get that going.

oh and my 230 is broke yet again. remember the frame issues i was having? the swing arm bolt holes being egg shaped. well i filled the bolt hole with weld ground it down smooth. got a little too confident with it racing against my buddies ,who ironically all own 230's, and tried to clear a jump that 2 strokes cant make. it was a short track and i never left 3rd gear and well every lap i kept getting closer to ramping fron transition to transition and well over shot it, landing on the next hill on my right rear. i completely tore the swinger bolt through the frame.
