whats the wet weight of a 230? even with your mods, your bike is as light as a dry 230 isnt it?

The early 230's weighed 315 dry I think. The latter ones weighed 330. I think I was 315 wet, but that was before the mods (250 engine, arms, swinger).

what all did you do before your upgrades to cut that much weight? chain? tire lugs? bumper, skids?

Who needs a bumper? scrapped it. Only 1lb or so, but still.

Never had rear brakes and dont really need them. Disk, caliper, fluid, hose, foot lever... what? 3-4lbs???

I shaved a pound or 2 off my tires.

Might have saved a pound on my chain, not sure. Saved something on my smaller sprockets. Doubt its a pound though.

That's about it. Heaviest thing is the tires. I'm tempted to shave lugs off the front too.

sounds like the added weight for the added hp is a good trade off. especially with the cuts youve made.

thats pure insanity. that must still hold the title for quad boss. 500cc at under 300? 2stroke? with all this new technology, how come there isnt a bike to top that?

EPA I guess. Not good to burn oil. And to equal the power of a 2-stroke, you'd need a 4-stroke roughly double the size. ie the raptor 700cc 4-stroke took the place of the banshee 350cc 2-stroke. There's no way you're going to get a 1000cc quad to weigh 300lbs... or a 750cc with turbo even
