For what it's worth, they haven't built a stock quad that will beat a stock zilla, yet. I think within the next couple years i will eat that statement but for now it's the easiest to work on and not having to change the oil or change the blinker fluid everytime you ride it around the block.... is nice. I like older cars so i guess it's an aquired taste, like my Copenhagen. The quad being discussed sounds like it will take some money and time to get into shape but if it's done right, hold on to your butt. Good luck...my 2 cents

From my own experience, a lt500 will have no problem beating a KFX 700.

Unless the KFX has some major motor work done to it

I'd hurry up and get it for $500. If I was selling a quadzilla for $500 and somebody tried talking me down to $400 because it needed work, I'd kick them in the nutts and tell them the price just doubled. So good luck getting him lower. Let us know if you get it.

holly old thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok so that deal fell through.. but once again.. i got a possible.. made a phone call and left a vm...

now this is an '89...

it is not yellow or blue anymore but black and green...

tell me if this is worth looking at please... ($1000)

New piston & ring bored out to a 540. FMF racing pipe. Extended carbon fiber swing arm. Extended rear axle. Front and back disc brakes. New chrome HPI front and back rims. Low profile, flat track rear tires. Twist throttle. Carbon fiber reeds. About 4 hiurs on piston & rings. Definitely over 100 mph. Runs beautiful.

once again if memory serves me right.. the '87 had the head gasket problem.. so the '89 shouldnt...

is there any issues i have to worry about on the '89?
since my first thread was almost 5 years ago.... did they make anything that will eatup a 500?

I still like the old school 2 strokes... this weekend my kids got to ride on a quad (one got to drive) for their first time... no they wont ride the lt-500hah.... but that would be the first stepping ground on a bike for me.. then the family to follow....

thanks guys...

some pics from guy

Can't go wrong with a ZILLA. I have 2 of them, One a drag bike , the other I use flying around the dunes. You can beef these grandpa's up while not spending an arm and a leg . My drag bike does 96 mph in 7 sec. in the 1/8 mile at the drag strip. on 87 octane. do that with a four stroker.

that looks like a 250 from the plastic. The 500 had problems with the main bearings spinning in the case.Trinity racing fixes the cases.
