I installed Mudlite XTRs, 26x9x12 on the front and 26x11x12 on the back on my '04 Eiger 5 speed.
They are much better in the mud, increased ground clearance, and still good on trails and rocks.
However, I did notice a substantial power decrease. I have to down shift alot more, user low more than I did and it runs a little hotter than before. I might have gone with 25s or a less aggressive tread if I did it over.
I am not sure how aggressive the Polaris tires are, the ones that I have seen are not as aggressive as Mudlites so maybe those will have less effect on the power.

I have 26's on mine. ITP589's as a matter of fact. They don't get much heavier or more aggressive than that. I also have some power upgrades, so my performance isn't much of an issue. I can still pull a wheelie on pavement in first with a little trickery.

(thinking about port and polish now....)

aksafari - I looked at the pictures of your air box mods. I am thinking about doing that. When you changed the carb to the Vinson carb did it just bolt on? What did you have to do to make it work?
What other performance mods did you do? I am looking for more power with the bigger tires.
Considering a King Quad, that should solve the power issue but if I can do a few less expensive mods I might try that.

I always wanted a lift... now that I have it, I love the ground clearance, but my driveline makes a little noise when my rear axle is at full extension. Bummer. I think I might have to file a little bit of the corners of the yokes off so they don't interfere.
I DEFINITELY don't recommend some bolt-on brackets to achieve lift. If you want lift, get Vinson shocks. Better shocks, more ground clearance (they're longer than the Eiger shocks) and more travel. How can you go wrong?
I would have used Vinson rear shocks, but I couldn't find any at the right price.

this is what im gonna do;. i am running a 10 day ad in the local paper to sell the eiger. if it sells ill be taking a new 700 grizzley to utah in 4 weeks. if it dont sell then on goes the 26' tires and the eiger goes back to utah. it did me proud last year but it had to work very hard being a 400 in a group of 700s.

I have an 05 Eiger with itp 589's 26x9x12 on front and 26x12x12 on the back and a moose lift kit. I havent suffered any loss of power and the bike still has a nice ride to it. The bigger more aggressive tires are a little heavier but I havent noticed any difference.
