Default 05 Eiger 400

I have a 400 eiger that just recently started to bog down and back fire when you give it gas. It will run fine for about two minutes than all of a sudden when you give it gas it bogs down and wont go nowhere. If I wait long enough it will come out of it and go ok for another few minutes. I put a new spark plug in it but is still doing it. If anyone has had this trouble or might no what is up please let me know. If I can fix it myself that would be great if not I want get it fixed. This is the first bit of trouble I have had with it since I bought it. Thanks for any and all input. There are 4 foot snow drifts calling my name today

I had the same problem with my 04 Eiger. I had a small piece of a pine needle in my carb.

If you do a search there are a number of posts that talk about similar issues with Eigers. Most have had some dirt in the carb. I would guess your carb is dirty. They are also very hard to clean. Not sure why but I cleaned mine 3 times and still didn't get it, finally had to take it to the dealer and they found the pine needle.

Clean the carb, take everything apart and get in all the small corners, used compressed air to blow it out and hopefully that will work.

Good luck!

My 02 did the same thing! after takeing the carb off 3 times and found nothing I accidently found that the vent hose from the carb to under the seat was kinked where it runs close to the exhaust. It's a real soft hose in the first place and the heat from the exhaust softened it more and it kinked.

I replaced it with a heavier hose and it runs fine.

Too see if thats your problem just disconect it from the carb and run it. MAKE sure you disconnect the right hose! do not disconect the 1 to the fuel valve or it won't get any gas.
