Can you explain the mod to the slide in detail?

I think it was Yammadog who brought it to my attention leave the throttle cable hooked up while carb. is loose in your hand open throttle wide open with thumb lever look through intake. If like mine /Nephews slide did'nt open fully had to (scribe a line arround-togrind straight ) grind appox.3/8 inch off top slide until when WOT slide was no longer hanging down into carb.

Are you serious? Suzuki sure did a fine job of de-tuning this machine. I don't know what they were thinking. They sure are making us work hard for a little extra power.

I'll check the slide and modify as needed.

Thanks

Like I said wait until you have that head in hand pull valves out and check out Suzuki's porting job or lack of it. I used a roto-zip with the sprial drill bit looking thing to blend the step@ the guide and radius the 90*where runner met the valve pocket (worked great).

I'm with you. I'm probably going to pull the head in a day or to. I'm trying to find one of those roundtuits.

A cylinder head shop is going to do the work. Maybe they can do the porting too.

What kind of an improvement were aware of after doing the head work? Was it significant? I rode my wifes Honda Metropolitan today. I wish I could get close to the power that thing has. It's not much but it's way more than the z-50.

I did the mill, jetting, slide, air box, porting all at the same time. But it was a HUGE improvement bike was cold natured and wouldn't even drive over my boot{sad, parking lot was ok but any andI mean any off road and it was stuck} now starts right up runs great, with no one on it and front brake on,on concreat will spin tires still running stock gearing with me on it@205lbs about mid 20's mph.
Did open up exhaust and using 90 cdi first.
