Default Suzuki 250 4WD Manual transmission

Suzuki 250 manual transmission, 4wd is stuck in gear. Looks like the last rider parked it while still in gear.

Rocking the machine does not help as it has in the past. I have been able to push it while trying to switch the gears with no success.

Any suggestions ? Any ideas why I've been having this problem ?

Thanks
Ed.

All the gears on that beast are controlled by cables. Maybe the cables are rusted. Try removing the cable and using pliers to get it out of gear and then lube up the cable.

If not, something inside is messed up. If you decide to part it out on ebay, I have a big list of stuff I need off it, because mine was in a fire.

Cables are in working order. I can go into higher gears and back down but not neutral... I can see the linkage move. Not looking good here...

Not looking forward to pulling the motor and trans out during Winter.

I just pulled my 230 engine out and thought it was not going to be a job I was looking forward to (splitting the cases). Then a buddy said, "imagine what the 250 4wd would be like, LOL". Gears would be everywhere. The motor and trans are all one case. I can't imagine what the insides must be like.
