Default LT 80 starting issue

I have a 1993 Suzuki LT 80. i just changed the wiring harness and it now has good spark. When I hold the start button, the bike sounds like it is almost running, but when I let off, it is not started. I cleaned the carb, tried a different spark plug, checked the reeds, and used starting fluid to bypass any fuel issues. the bike did start to run once for about 2 seconds, but I cannot get it to run. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not sure what the spec for the compression are, but it has 55 lbs of compression. Is that too little?

Well that explains that!LOL
Yes, it's way too little. It should read 120 or so.
Time for a top end rebuild.

Thanks.. with it being a smaller quad, I wasn't sure if the lower compression was normal.

120 is normal compression for a 2 stroke
