Default New to ATVs

Hey everyone! I'm new to ATVs in general and just picked up a 2002 Vinson and am wondering about the maintanence schedule. It has about 1950 miles and 450 hours. It came with no books.

I'm figuring it needs an oil change and not sure what to put in it or how much it holds. It has a new plug and I have a couple spare NGKs since it had been sitting. Not sure what else it needs. I'm the 3rd owner and the 2nd owner doesn't know what was done prior to him owning it. The 2nd owner didn't use it and it sat the last 2 years other than starting it up and moving it around the yard so he did nothing to it other than the plug.

Thanks,

Mike

Change diff fluids, new gas, clean and re-oil air filter, grease any zerks (not sure if there are any), check brakes, change brake fluid, check nuts and bolts for tightness.

Thanks for the input. What weight diff fluid? And what weight/type oil for the engine?

I went with synthetic oil for the diff's I used Mobil 1, but have heard good things about Bel Ray and Amsoil. As for the engine oil if its a wet clutch the oil you need to get should be compatible. Not sure on the weight, though, if you go to the dealer they should be able to get what you need. As far as synthetic vs. conventional, thats a debate thats been, and will be going on forever. I figured its better to change it often, and didn't have the money to spend on full synthetic. Probably want to find an owners manual, think they can be found online for free by Googling it.
