my eiger will not start bought a new battery all it does is make a popping noise,does anyone have any ideas. Is there a compression realese anywhere bout pulle dmy shouler out of socket trying to pull start it

 

Well, that's a good sign if it's hard to pull. At least you know you got good compression. Mine usually starts on a couple pulls, on full choke normally. No compression release that I'm aware of.

Can you cross the poles on the starter and make it turn over?
