lt80 new piston and a 30 psi test
#1
Hi i'm hoping someone can help me after sorting my carb problems on my kids lt80 i thought i would deal with the smoking issue and pulled the lid off, the piston had seen better days and had just started to score so i ordered a new piston (standard size) and gave the block to my neighbour how gave it a slight honing (not a rebore) to true it out abit and put it all back together with all new gaskets and tried to start her up with nothing and the comp test was reading about 10 at most so i stripped it checked the rings where right and the piston wasn't loose and put it all back together again with some liquid gasket for good measure and now i'm getting a reading of 30 psi my question is, could bad reeds cause this or is there something else.
THANKS IN ADVANCE

I agree wit 111.It's wore.......
Seems like a .5 over Suzuki or Pro-X piston and a bore is needed.
You can put a few drops of oil in the plug hole and see what the compression goes up to.
Without getting technical,The reed has nothing to do with compression.
