I have an 04 Eiger running rich puffing black smoke,hanging throtle when rev'd,wont idle gets worse when warm.I have installed a carb rebuild kit with all new jets,O rings and springs no help.I have also adjusted the float height all the jets are stock sizes how could it be running so rich? Thanks in advance for any help.

 

Ok here it is. If the diaphram in the fuel petcock / shutoff on the bottom of the tank is bad it will do this. Disconnect the vacuum line from it and see if there is fuel that drips out. Or just clamp it closed while its running and see if it clears up. Hope this helps

 

I took my hemostats clamped off the line now it runs lean probably because I have the mixture screw only 1/8 turn out.Other than that runs so smooth thanks for the help
