i have an 06 eiger 400 and ive been having trouble on the mountains when you try to go up a steeper incline it looses all power and cuts off and blows black smoke i rebuilt the carb and i have a lack of power now needle get is 2 1/2 turns out 120 big jet and 38 small (hmf slip on pipe k&n filters) if that helps

 

it sounds like your rebuild didn't go so well since you blow black smoke when you go up a mountain does your float work ok or can you tell since it sounds like gas is flooding the carb with the black smoke do you know for sure it isn't the rings gone bad since that would cause smoke also the clip should be out one position did you add a better filter or is it just the slip on since it will not effect the engine unless you put both on
