Default '92 Suzuki QuadRacer LT250r carb issue

Hey guys hope everyone is doing well.

I'll try my best to get all my details on point to help figure this out. I do believe the previous owner never took the carb off because of how hard it was to take off haha. Anyways it ran fine until I MESSED with the carb. I took it apart and put it back put it back together. Then ran fine but it started to shoot out a lot of white smoke it wasn't blue though. I took off the spark plug and checked to see if it was wet and it was soaked. There was a lot of fuel coming out of the carb over flow so i raised the tab on the float lever. It does not leak fuel anymore but it didn't solve my problem. I cant kick it because it floods, i pull it around the yard with some help. It ignites on the right stroke but doesnt follow through. When we get it to start it runs but if you give it throttle, the smoke gets worse and then it dies. Pull the plug and it is soaked.

It has a 250 main and I replaced it with a 240 main. Can't see a difference. Petcock is messed up cause it still pulls fuel through.
No idea where the unburnt fuel is going to so I drained the tran fluid and replaced it. The quad is pulling way too much fuel into the cylinder. Tried messing with the fuel mix screw but can't get it to run right and the idler screw does not seem to work.

Eventually I am just going to pull it out and completely redo everything but I have two weeks to get her running for the mountains. After that she is getting some tlc.

Correction he had a 240 and I replaced it with a 230. It ran fine before. He did not have an air filter or lid. I replaced them, then figured to remove the lid but no improvement. Its over 75 and im between the 1-5k ft elevation and clymer notes I should be at 200. Only other mods I have is FMF fatty and silencer. And a cool head that I have no info on.

Should my main jet go up or down? The spark plug gets soaked when I hit the throttle. Once i take it out and dry it; it starts but onky for a few seconds.

thanks

The stock quadracer carbs are junk IMO. I bought a Keihin pwk carb and never had another problem. The stock mikuni carb slide wears out and it sucks air past it making it very difficult to tune. It sounds like your needle seat is shot though getting all that fuel.

IMO, your float/needle is allowing fuel to go past it still. Inspect the needle and seat.
I suspect another ethanol related carb problem.
I think the jets will be fine cuz it was running fine before you messed with it.

The main would only effect full throttle. drop the needle and see if that helps.

I would return to stock (for a baseline) and go from there. The problem with asking "what jet" is that it depends on several factors...normal riding elevation and the extent of mods (this one is even more tricky because you may be the 4th owner of the machine and not know everything done or not done to it).
