I have a Suzuki 250 I think it's a 96 it will start up and run but if I try to let it idle it cuts off and wen I do keep it running it will run ok one minute and start acting like it's not getting enough gas or something the next it will run but it doesn't have the power it should I have to play with the throttle to make it go and it gets worse the hotter it gets it has a new carb and I cleaned the fuel pump how do i tell if the fuel pump is bad if its bad will it not crank at all or can it work enough to make it run somewhat if any one might know what's going on with it I could really use ur help. thanks for any help

 

You have posted this in the Kawasaki section of the forum. Anyway seems like either too much fuel or not enough, put part choke on when it starts to misbehave, if it starts to run better you are running weak, if worse it is running rich. Regarding the pump. I don't know the old 250, but take the pipe off from the carb and see how much fuel the pump is delivering,
