Default Power to move a boat?

The Polaris SP 700 or 800 can tow 1200 lbs w/ tounge wgt of 150. But it sounds like most can pull alot more than 1200 lbs

Engine size is not the issue ,for pulling trailers you need low range and a staight axel. My old 350 Big bear when in low range with a big trailer would dig 3 wheel ruts before it stopped or the wheels would ever stop (which they never did).

I could put more toque weight on the Big Bear also, if I pulled some of the big trailers on a Independent rear suspension ATV the back end would of squished the ball hitch to the ground.

A 800 will just pull a heavy trailer faster, the tire contact points to the ground remains the same as a smaller ATV and no ATV in low range will run out of steam. Extra weight helps with pulling but that is provided by the trailer its self.

I have pushed are race car which weighs about 2000-2500 lbs up a hill a few times posi in the rear just fine with my 250 Recon ES. Just alot of tire spinnin on the gravel, but doesn't have a problem getting it up the hill. wouldn't see why it couldn't toe a boat as long as most of the weight is over the wheels

I pulled my Dad's Dodge 3500 and his 11,000 lb. 5th wheel trailer out of the mud with my Foreman. It was level ground and the mud was only a couple inches deep. He just couldn't get traction.

Default Power to move a boat?

It has been snowing like hell lately and the highway by my house got shut down because semi trucks couldn't make it up the hill. (edit: 8% grade). They were all crossed up and jack-knifed and what not

So I took my trusty ol' grizz down there and pulled each and everyone of them up the hill thru a foot of snow. One of them couldn't even get his engine started! The grizz spun a little so I had to put it in 4x4 low for that one. When I got him up to the top I looked back and seen that his tires were skidding all the way up, dumbtard trucker forgot to release his parking brakes!

most of the trucks weighed like 80,000 pounds but I figure with all the snow built up on them they were more like 85,000 pounds
