I need to get a winch installed on my 01' Arctic Cat 400 4x4, and am having some trouble picking one out that will do what I need but save me some money. I have limited it down to the Warn 2000lbs and the SuperWinch 2000lbs. Both offer great power for the 'light' utility work I will do with it. Also to hook up to my 60" plow. (I don't want to hook up that manual plow lift)

I was quoted near $400.00 for the Warn and I found a place that sells the SuperWinch 2000 for $179.00. WHo has used either one, and what is the positives and negatives of each?

Thanks in advance!

I can't speak for the superwinch because I have never used one but I have the Warn setup and it works great. I use it with my 60" plow and the only thing I want to add now that it is available is the toggle switch for 56 bucks. Look on Ebay they have the Warn cheaper there. If you need any other help let me know.

If you look around, you can find the warn 2000 for about $330-$350.

I think if your going to be doing light work and using it for the plow, the superwinch 1500 would serve your purpose.Northern Hydralic has them for 139.00.

What do you mean by the "switches" r440? The handle bar switch?

The switches on the super winch are junk (imo). I owned a super winch for a short time and I was not happy one bit. The dam thing seemed to be over working to much lifting my plow. I sold it promptly and bought the 2000# warn and was extremely happy with my purchase. It didn’t seem to struggle in lifting my plow. The only flaw on the warn that I found is the plastic cap on the lower electrical connection on the winch it self needs a drain hold put in it, it holds water and rust the bolt, other then that I can say enough bout the warn. I believe it was worth the difference of cost 3 fold. Ill put it this way; you’re out in the woods stuck up to your muffler in soup witch one would you want on your quad.

<< Ramsey or Warn. >>

Ramsey,
it looks to be the same winch, im not so sure bout the remote thing. what if the f.o.b. batteries run out? is there a way you can you this winch without the f.o.b.? If so i might consider the ramsey. But i need a handle bar mount switch cause I couldnt plow snow using the f.o.b..
