Leroy--- I am curious, have you had any of your gear, or bikes stolen there?

 

no, I have been going there for about 5 or 6 years very regularly and have never had anything messed with and don't know anyone who has either. I lock things up most of the time, but not always. I have heard stories of people getting their quads stolen from there but it's always somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody it happened to. I even left my 67 Falcon van up there for a week (I can't lock it) when the tranny broke and nobody messed with it. The only trouble I have had up there is with the occasional drunk wanting to start a fight, that's happened twice in 5 years so it doesn't happen very often. On the whole, the people I meet there are pretty nice.

 

Gotcha. Maybe Haspin HAS been gettin' a bad rap. I have heard lots of stories....bad stories. BUT, never first-hand accounts!

 

Not trying to down Haspin Acres, but I've also heard stories about quads and gear getting stolen, tents getting raided, and the overabundance of drunks riding around. Its too bad people like that have to make it bad for everyone else, especially since its such a cool place to ride.

 

I agree 100% with hearing about all the "stories" about stuff being stolen. Our group has been to Haspin lots of times over the past few years and we've never had a problem with anyone or anything being messed with. It's always been a place where friends and families can go to have some fun or you can go and enter a race.

 

I saw your van up there about 2 months ago. I didnt have any problems with people messing with our stuff when i went either. I also went to roundbottom road last night to, Its not bad for how small it is.

 

be carefull at Roundbottom, I got stopped by a Hamilton Co. Sheriff up there, he walked in there and told us to leave and the next time he would impound our trucks and give us tresspassing tickets. The railroad owns it and doesn't want anyone in there. I waited 9 months and went back and darned if another Sheriff didn't see us and motioned us to come down to him. Well I headed out the back way and I haven't been back since. Both times we were on those big hills in front by the railroad tracks.
