Well the weather report for this weekend is favorable for the high desert at Stoddard Wells! But . . . we have some friends who are new to the sport and would like to come and rent quads (both adult and child). I know of rental places at Glamis and Ocotillo Wells, but does anyone know of a rental place either in Victorville, Barstow, San Bernardino or Riverside? Or better yet, one that delivers (a la Glamis) to Stoddard Wells?

Have never seen any alongside the road there like I did in Ocotillo, but you'd think there'd be a place in one of those cities. You might want to try doing a quad rental search on the internet for those cities. It would be great if you had access to a Victorville/Barstow phone book! You can try calling 411 and see if they'll help.

Not sure if any Eagle Rider locations are close enough:

Well, I spent my weekend (Friday & Saturday) wet and cold up in Idyllwild with son #2 and the rest of the cub scouts. The both of us wishing we could have brought the quads with us, so no riding this past weekend for us. A good time was had by all, then Sunday morning we got out of there and went bought mom her quad so she can play too.

I asked last week for suggestions on what to get her, thank you all for your input. She ended up with the Yamaha Bruin 350, it's a big beast, bigger than I expected, probably a good 6-8" longer than my kfx400. Not quick, but fast for a vehicle that size, probably top ends around 45 mph. We'll take it out for it's maiden voyage this coming weekend.

Speaking of this coming weekend, heading out to Randsburg, should get there late Saturday and overnight for all day Sunday.

Yesterday, my husband, two of his buddies and his son/friend went riding, just for the day, off the 15 fwy and the hwy. 138 exit. He said he's never seen it so crowded there before (you have to have an "Adventure Pass" for $5 to ride there). I didn't go this time. They had fun - lots of mud there still. What a job is was to clean off all the quads & riding gear when he got home! I remember the last time we drove by on the 15 fwy, when I looked down there under the railroad bridge where everyone parks, there was a ton of people there then too. Seems like it's becoming a much more popular area than it used to be. Just a day-ride place though - no camping/no motorhomes.

Looks like we're going to El Mirage this weekend with a group of friends (3-5 motorhomes). The phone recording still says the main road was supposed to open back up on March 1 . . . I hope it did. I imagine the lakebed will still be closed though, but we don't ride on that anyway.

I'm picking up my new Bighorn radials on ITP C-series (type 5 i think) today and heading out to California city tomorrow. Can't wait to try out those Bighorns!! They look so bad it's not true!! Taking the RV up there and staying until Friday. It's my favourite riding area.....so far! I've only experienced Wild Wash, Hodge road and Cal. City so far tho'! My fav. spot is 18.1 miles north of Kramer Junction on the 395. You turn left onto a dirt road sign posted for Cali. City, follow for 1 mile and it turns into an asphalt road. Keep going for another mile or so and you have camp B to your right. I have a little spot of my own i like to hang out at.....it's a cool place!!

I usually don't post here in this thread but, I went riding with my bro off of the 10Fwy @the Date palms exit. It was quite bit of riding to do there. Had a blast even took my Grnd cherokee off road. Lots of places to explore.

Hi all, getting ready to go riding this weekend and was talking to some friends of mine that are motorcycle riders that like to track ride. Is anyone aware of any tracks that are set up for and/or allow quads?

Thanks
~Joey
