doorguy, did you try Carson trailer in Yucaipa? That's where I got mine, right off the lot with no waiting. They're right off the I-10 on the north side of the freeway. I bought an 8x12 and have fit three quads (300, 80 and 50) and a dirt bike. I think I paid about 700 -800 for it in 2002. About a year later I brought it back and they put a rear ramp and spare tire on it for about 200. Get the ramp, loading is soooo much easier and I feel more secure with a gate on the back. (I've seen a few quads on the side of the freeway in the past). A spare is also a must as I've used mine on two occassions.

The kids in our group are 9 and 4, and the adults range from new riders to crazy young adults, with the bulk of us just liking to cruise along with the kids. We're going to Stoddard the weekend of the 4th.

Hope you get your trailer soon, it sucks to have the stufff and not be able to ride!

Doorguy, Get a usad trailer! Pick up a cycle trader and thumb through them. Better price and bring it home today!
Johnson Valley is about 8 miles east of Lucerne Valley. Right behind Big Bear Lake.
Also on the back side of Big Bear is Cactus flats. A mix of mountain and high desert. Many old gold mines up there.

Anyone headed out to Superstition this weekend? I heard Glamis was OK but Superstition is west of there and probably had a bit more rain. Southbay Motorsports is supposed to have a get-together there. Wheeler Road can be a real mess if its wet. Need to get some riding in, I can deal with the mud.

Does anyone know if Ocotillo Wells should be fine for this weekend or will it be too mudded out from the rain this week? I'm hoping that having the dry Thurs & Friday will help a little. All I know is that we're going riding somewhere this weekend - gotta get away. I can't wait for Gorman to get back in shape and fully open again.

I don't know what the ground is like now, but here is a link to the forecast for the upcoming weather in Ocotillo.

Ocotillo forecast

If I can get out I may go to Stoddard this weekend, don't know for sure yet. Good luck.

Darn! The forecast I looked at didn't show rain on Friday night like this one does. We may even wind up going to Stoddard instead since we don't want to go too far this weekend.

Hi All,

Been following this thread for a while and thought I would join in. We are a family of three from Simi Valley (the wife, myself and 10 y.o. daughter) who love to ride. I just switched to a utility quad from my 400 ex and probably won't look back. We enjoy exploring as much as riding in one area.

We were planning an overnight this weekend (2-26) to Dove Springs but all the other folks we invited wimped out. We would still like to do a day run. Anyone want to hook up? Too wet for Pismo (I heard the river crossing is impassable at high tide) but anywhere in the Jawbone / Dove Springs / Cal City area should be great. Willing to travel a bit farther, maybe Stoddard or Calico.

Look forward to hearing from you

Hi DoorGuy!

Welcome to the site! We are newbie's also. We live in San Marcos, about an hour or so south of you in San Diego County. I grew up in Elsinore/Wildomar right next door to Corona. We have ridden in Ocotillo and San Felipe. We had a trip planned to Stoddard Valley last weekend but the rain kaiboshed that. Should have gone to Glamis or Ocotillo......oh well. Trying to plan a trip thie first week in April to San Felipe or Cantamar dunes in Mexico. As far as a trailer- we got ours through the Equipment Trader
(www.traderonline.com) - took us awhile to find it because we needed one with an upper deck. There's a place in Vista (just west of San Marcos) that sells new trailers: Ronco Trailers (760) 599-4808. We are in our early40's, have three kids (6, 8 and 17) and hope to meet others that we can ride with!

Lady Jade - I'm so glad you mentioned Cantamar Dunes . . . my husband used to go there a long time ago and has been wanting to go back there, but didn't know if you could still ride there/if it was still the same, etc. Have you been there recently? If so, how was it? He said it used to be a great place to go (I've never been there).

We're in our mid 40's. My son is 22 and my stepson is 13, whom we have every other weekend. My son lives down by you in Oceanside and his girlfriend goes to college in San Marcos.
