CALIFORNIA Quad Riders report here.....

FORT SAGE is a GREAT place to ride. I just returned from my 2 day trip. I wasn't there long enough. It is not a place you want to drive for a day ride. You need to spend at least a couple to a few days to see ride all the trails. Click on the link at the beginning of this post. You cannot ride all the trails this place has to offer in one day. If you can then you didn't ride them all. This website has some pretty good pictures of what Fort Sage looks like but there is so much more that I don't think he was able to see. In the next couple of days I am going to post some pictures I took this past weekend. This place is unbelievably large. As an added bonus for guys who like to drag there is a dry lake bed that you can go flat out on. I will post when I get the pictures up.

I forgot to ask. How is Hollister Hills? I know someone knows. Please give me the scoop. Thanks.>>>>>>>>>>
Hollister Hills is pretty nice for a day ride, you can cover it all in a day, mostly one way trails which are nice, well groomed and maintained. Snack shop, camping etc...I'd suggest staying overnight though, its a bit of a drive from Sac, a good 2 1/2- 3 hrs to the riding area.

raidermike is right. Hollister is great. Definately camp. Just note that there are skunks and wild pig around, so try to put everything up. (Skunks like Goldfish crackers...)
A great place to learn to ride. It was my first REAL ride. Trails are almost all well maintained. Some can get a little nasty. If it rains on Tuesday/Wednesday, by Friday during the winter months it's just sweet. If you LOVE to get muddy, hit it when it rains. Though, that mud will stick something fierce, so wash it off, asap.
There are hot, free showers down in Walnut camp. A store is located in Lodge Camp (I avoid camping there as it's really busy because of the store and the road). Lots of day use areas. Bee camp is good for campers (slide-ins) or tents. Madrone is nice for big groups if you get their early enough. "Overflow" camping on Radio Ridge, or if you have a tall 5th wheel and not sure if you will turn it into a convertible on the drive back.
Several kiddy tracks as well.
The main road as well as the tracks are watered throughout the day (moreso in the summer months.)
I'll be there on Radio Ridge this weekend camping with a large group.
