That's what he loves most about that bike! A far cry from his bikes in the past.

Yeah you can get there, it's a pretty good distance 10-15(?) miles maybe and I believe you need to cross a paved highway?? As how to get there??? Head south-east

I wouldn't exactly call Hwy. 247 a major highway - its just a two lane road. You have to follow the road for a while as they have put up fences now...

But it is nice to enjoy a pizza and a beer before gettin' back on the trail.

I do miss that riding - from I-40 to I-15 to 247... Too much fun

Hey, I just said paved, not major At 90 mph in a truck on a bumpy a$$ trail they all look major though

Ridinfolks- Red Rock Canyon is the State Park between Jawbone Canyon and Dove Springs. It's all the same huge area. Be sure to stop at the JawBone Ranger station to pick up a trail map.

That whole place down there is awesome. There are trails everywhere. You probably will want to see alternative camp areas in the JawBone and Dove Springs areas, for future reference. Red Rock being a State Park has some extra restricitons about what and where you can ride, but no big deal.

Be sure to check out the JawBone Canyon Store, in Cantil. On Saturday's and SUndays they usually have BBQ's and a Band playing in the Patio......Most people ride their quads and bikes to the store, have a TriTip sandwich and a beverage, hang out for a while, buy a souveneer teeshirt and hat, gas up and drive back to camp....I'm not sure if they will have any bands playing this time of year....but the place is still worth riding to and checking out...

For a longer ride, try and make it over to Randsburg, and it's the same deal, a store and saloon to tank up the mind and body and machine....it's about 30+ miles from RedRock or Jawbone to Randsburg. You can get gas in the town right next to Randsburg....but make sure you leave early enough in the day to make the round trip....

Have FUN/
