Black&Red: Probably a stupid question, but do you mean the "packing" inside of the silencer? It's brand new - a new FMF, but it was doing it before too. Would a brand new one need to be repacked already? And yes, the mix is always fresh.

Well - the honey do's were done on saturday - and the parts came... And prarie city was SO muddy - but we had a blast as usual.
I saw a few more trikes than usual - One even had a 'red head'... That's what I'm talkin' bout'.
Headin' up to mammoth bar next saturday.. Maybe see some of you there.

The packing is what is inside of the silencer that actually quiets it down. There are a couple different materials I've seen. Both are made out of fiberglass I believe. One is like a batting that's sold in a roll. Like fiberfill if you've ever done any sewing. The other I've seen looks like a bunch of strings.
Being a new pipe, it's probably just not needed. You could try and clean out the full pipe and expansion chamber. Like pulling an obsorabtn cloth on a weighted string through it. May be enough to just keep it from splattering all the time.
The packing also creates back pressure, which two strokes need.

The cloth is just my guess to see if there's a bunch of excess oil in the exhaust. I'm betting there is. Hope it works.

Sort of like cleaning out the barrel of a shotgun If the end cap is held on with rivets, just drill those out, and use sheet metal crews to hold the cap back on. I'd also wear gloves if your taking the packing out, not only a oily mess, but, fiberglass is really something you want on your hands.

Well went out to Stoddard valley for 2 days this past weekend and had a blast! It was a little chilly during the day and at night it was freaking freezing! Good thing my uncle brought his trailer, the heater works extremely well. The place is a little rockier than I though but it wasnt too bad. Some of the hillclimbs there were really challenging and the trails seemed to never end. There were allso a ton of raced out baja trucks there racing...Man those things are amazing! I took my girlfriend riding with me for the first time and she liked it a lot. Hopefully she will realize that she needs to buy an ATV Another thing I thought was cool is that Stoddard is closer than el mirage and Gorman! It was 93 miles from my house. So its pretty close especially with the 19 mile detour at el mirage right now. All in all it was a great time and good riding!
Oh well just thought I would share

proraptor, Thanks for the update I just recently found out about Stoddard Valley while watching the Terrible Herbst getting ready for the Baja 1000 out there. Hope when we make it down there (someday) we will see stuff like that too

We'll have to check out Stoddard Valley again sometime soon . . . it's even closer to us, probably only around 75 or so miles away. I hear ya about having an RV to stay in. We could never go back to tent camping - nothing like having all the comforts of home!

Yeah the trucks are freaking amazing. They haul some serious butt! They have an actual practice track out there for the trucks, buggies, etc. Its a big loop. I finally got enough ***** to run the track on my raptor and did pretty well. I got passed by one tricked out baja racing dirt bike but I caught up to one of those trucks until we hit a straight-a-way then he punched it and roosted me! LOL That track beat me to death! My ultimate goal with my raptor is to convert it into a full desert machine and eventually race one of the baja races. Just to finish a race like that would be an awesome feeling. Ive already started buying the parts I need to compete, Its going to take awhile before Im happy with my ride but Ill get there eventually! Let me know when you guys come down and Ill try and make it out there.
