Only 17 years old? Man that is really terriable. I guess we all need to remember to always be in control of your quad and wear the proper gear. Accidents can still happen though. Thats very sad.

I was on this very trail on Saturday with my wife and son. It was the first time that I had been on the Clark County trails north of Hatfield. My first impression and my lasting impression, was that it was like atving on someone's gravel driveway. The trails are hard packed gravel....... and in many cases the corners are very rough.
Although Black River Falls can prove to be rough and beatin at times, the trails seem more like trails and less like road. My personal preference is for the trail feel I guess. In the area that this kid was killed, the corners are filled with ruts and holes that are pretty tough to go through if your not careful. Also, the dust was unreal last weekend. Prior to the corners, you are on a gravel road that goes on and on for miles... just like a road (straight and wide).
It's hard to say for sure but I guess my view of these northern Clark County trails is that their road like appearance, encourages very high speeds, yet the corners and the conditions of the trail do not support the action. Yes, this could be said about a lot of places but the Clark County trails near Neilsville are more road than trail and more rough than they should be.
I'm sure many factors were involved in this accident. Regardless of what caused what... it's too bad to see a 17 year old life end like this.

My son and I just got back from BRF, first time for us.We are from Iowa and have alot differnt types of trails here. I did not realize all the trails in BRF would be sand, flat, bumpy in spots. I can see why most people we saw were riding utility's. It was fun but after a couple of day's of riding it was getting boring. We also went up to clark co. to ride, same as BRF but more gravel.
