Hi John:

Not sure anyone else is going. Not heard from anyone else. As for the weather, bring it on. That place needs a good soaking. No definite plans yet. Waiting to see if anyone else is in....

Iam still not sure. Last time we rode I burned up the last of my rear brake pads. If I can get them replaced and Iam not working I might be in. If not Iam just goin to ride local for the afternoon. Iam just off of rt 2 on the way to lmft. If a day trip doesnt work out ( tbd) at lmft and you want to go for a safe local run in the afternoon let me know. Parking is on fam. land and safe.

Hi,
New to the forum but I've been reading about LMFT for a while now. My wife and I recently bought a couple of trail bikes and are both new to riding bikes. We recently rode in Pisgah, mostly because of the wide smooth trails. The approved trail network was small and my wife dumped her bike on a rougher side road. It was on a steeper downhill that was all washed out. She was ok, just a few bruises. She got right back on and rode back out. I was wondering what the terrain was like on the LMFT. Looking for an area with relatively smooth riding trails. I live in MA about 35 mins from the parking lot off fish hatchery rd. I've also heard about parking at the fire pond. How's the riding from there? Looking for mild terrain to get some miles under our belts.
Thanks for any info.

There are plenty of wide, smooth trails for a beginner at LMFT. Problem is, due to the elevation changes of the area, both parking areas require you to go up/down some steep stuff (for a beginner) to get there. My advice would be to try the Fire Pond area first. The parking at Fish Hatchery requires you to go up a fairly long steep trail to get to the rest of the system. Parking at Fire Pond allows you access to a bunch of nice trails below the mountain area, then access to the mountain area with an easier road. All the main trails are wide Class VI roads. Mostly smooth but definitely some tricky spots. Just sticking to easy stuff you can do 40 miles in a day easily. I have taken a beginner (my gf) and she had no problems from theFire Pond side. But when we got to the other side, it was a little intimidating to her (but she made it).

Also, if you enjoy the trails, consider joing the LMFT club at: Welcome to Little Monadnock Family Trails Its only $25 per year and I know they can use the support to help keep these amazing trails open. Good Luck!

Well- I've been holding off to posting this for a few days now hoping my situation would change, but thus far it has not.

I bought my renegade friday- on saturday I was faced with the realization that my wife's car needed about $2k in repairs- and my truck needed another $500 worth of repairs- Wanting to do the right thing by my wife and children, I sold the renegade on sunday (for $1k more then I paid for it!) and went to Diamond Chev in worcester on sunday and financed my wife a new SUV crossover.

She now has a nice dependable AWD vehicle to lug the kids around in- but I no longer have an atv- and have just over $2000 left over to buy one.
-

I can't remember the last time I was this depressed.

Anyone know someone selling a 2005+ 500cc+ utility atv for $2500 ?

Ouch. Being responsible can be tough but definitely the right call. Nice job on the Renegade flip!

I spoke to someone who has a 2003 Sportsman 700 in mint shape with 168 miles on it. No idea what he was looking for (NADA is about $2600) if you want I can PM you his email and you can work your charm. He seemed hot to get rid of it. I know..2003...Wouldn't have mentioned excet for the crazy low mileage.

Or, if you ever need to get out there you my Ranchers always available. Hell, I'll take the Rancher and I'll still keep up

Keep me posted I'm ready to ride.

Thanks for all the info Wilson911! The dirt bikes seem to make it a bit trickier on rough stuff and she is still learning the controls and what to do in a given situation. She is still doing good and I'm proud of her for getting right back on.
How is the parking at the pond? Is it easy to get in and out with a two place sled trailer? I will definitely consider becoming a member.
Thanks Again
